Job Description Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Provide IT support for the installation and maintenance of the Ordnance Information System (OIS) Retail Partial Connect hardware and software applications on specific Department of the Navy Atlantic and Pacific Fleet ships. Responsibilities include the following: active measurement of OIS performance indices, identifying issues, and taking corrective action to resolve using tools deployed for this requirement.
Serve as Fleet Ordnance Information Systems (OIS) helpdesk liaison and assist with OIS hardware and software upgrades and installations. Assist in resolving OIS retail, OIS wholesale and Retail Ordnance Logistics Management System (ROLMS) ordnance accounting discrepancies, and assist commands in calculating asset balances to align reports with inventory levels. Process reports dealing with non-combat expenditure allowance (NCEA), receipt, issue, disposal, and expenditures for ashore and afloat commands.
Work is performed at OIS offices in NOB Norfolk, VA.
Required Skills Active DoD Secret security clearance.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
2 year of years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Experience with the following:
-Conventional Ordnance Inventory Control Point processes and OIS interaction.
-Navy IT networks and technologies, including COMPOSE 4.0 and CANES.
-OIS supported functional capabilities for OIS-Retail Partial Connect Installations
-OIS system testing events and execution of those test events.
-Naval ordnance inventory management.
-OIS data element definitions and metadata.
Ability to report system accuracy and the system conformance to the OIS functional requirements.
Ability to travel as necessary.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
