Scope: This position will work closely with technical writers and customers to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs). Technical assignments for this position are diverse and require the ability to work with little supervision. Duties include technical documentation review, clerical editing, and copy preparation. Position requires technical writing skills and demonstrated ability in the operation of publishing/editorial software to compose text and tables, copy editing, and art work.
Responsibilities: (Not all encompassing)
Analyzes and reviews style and format of technical documents for compliance with Department of Defense standards, specifications, and instructions.
Verifies format, style, content arrangement, and other publication requirements for any technical document that does not conform to existing specifications.
Ensures conformance to established specifications (style, format, and publication content requirements).
Ensures correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Prepares final documents for printing and distribution.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency is required.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field is desirable.
Secret or Interim Secret security clearance is required.
Knowledge of Special Weapons Ordnance Publication (SWOP) 1-1 is desirable.
Salary:
$22K, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
20 hours per week
